Frequently though, organisations don’t think through the fundamental aspect of what their core purpose of being in business is, or their vision of the future, or the values they deeply believe in. As a result, they tend to get caught into the present, or have no discretion in the kind of opportunities they pursue, and often lack consistency in direction. Many organisations do have their ideology spelt out, but it remains on paper, with no conviction behind it, or it being there only as a tick-mark/to show case.
